Arrive at the trail basecamp and check-in.

Orientation meeting with Lucy Westlake and Elley Ringo.
Lucy will host a safety meeting and no footprint discussion.
Elley will talk about the geological formations of the area and the types of rocks you will find.
Q&A
Receive your souvenir items.
10:00 AM MT - 1:00 PM MT
The Mount Sanitas Trail is approximately 3.5 miles that meanders both sides of the ridge leading to the Mount Sanitas summit. The terrain varies from open meadows to rugged boulders and projected rock outcrops. This hike has great rock formations and views above Boulder.
During the hike, the guides will stop periodically to offer tips and instructions. There will be time for rock collecting and education on geological formations in the area.

Your Guides for the Day
Elley Ringo is an experienced geologist and Lucy Westlake is an avid hiker with a passion for sharing their vast knowledge. They have spent years studying and exploring various geological phenomena around the world. Their expertise and enthusiasm will surely make this hiking event a memorable and educational experience.
Elley Ringo of "Elley Knows Rocks" has a degree in geology from the University of Nevada Reno, specializing in mineral identification and ore minerals. Elley has been a professional geologist for the past 10 years and is an independent geologic consultant for private mining claims. Elley Graduated at the top of her class from the University of Nevada, Reno where she received her Degree of Science in Economic Geology. Elley has worked as a professional geologist for the past 10 years at major mining companies. She is now an independent geologic consultant for placer and hard rock mining. Elley has taken these skills and passion for all things rock and mineral and put them towards teaching people about geology and mining. Elley has been the guest of numerous podcasts, geology/rock and mining clubs, the keynote speaker for the Phoenix Arizona GPAA gold show, writes for the GPAA gold prospectors magazine and is the star of the reality TV show Frozen Goldon the Weather Channel. Lucy Westlake is a world-class athlete and American mountaineer. She holds an American Record as the youngest woman to summit Mount Everest and a World Record as the youngest female to summit the highest mountain in each of the 50 U.S. states. Lucy runs cross country and track for the University of Southern California and she is a 2x USA Triathlon Junior All-American. Lucy has a deep love for the outdoors and pushing her physical and mental limits to new heights. She lives by the mantra, Limits are Perceived, and continually challenges herself in her athletic pursuits. At the age of 17, Lucy summited Denali and set the world record as the youngest female to summit all 50 U.S. state high points. She has now climbed 5 of the 7 continent’s highest peaks and her goal is to become the youngest American woman to complete the Explorers Grand Slam – a mountaineering feat accomplished by only 75 people worldwide.
