🍑GeorgiaFurs MiniCon 2024 🍑

The GeorgiaFurs MiniCon is a furmeet/event that aims to turn the fun of a furry convention into a fun and bite-sized experienced for everyone! We want individuals to have the opportunity to come by and commune with the local community, see what we're all about, and express themselves as furry as you can be!

  • Saturday, October 19th @ 12pm - 8pm
  • Sunday, October 20th @ 1pm - 7pm

🍑What's The Goal?

The goal of the MiniCon is: 

  • to make it easier for newcomers of the furry community to meet and experience others like them--fursuits and cosplays welcomed, but absolutely not required,
  • to educate others about the community and encourage others to engage the people within,
  • to provide local and creative talents such as artists, crafters, and musicians a place to vend and showcase their works, and
  • to allow the community a day where they can express themselves freely, safely, and in-person.

Your admission to the GeorgiaFurs MiniCon supports GeorgiaFurs'  growth within Furry Weekend Atlanta. Additionally, a portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to Lost-n-Found Youth.

🍑What's New?

This year, we're separating events into 2-days to experiment a new formula where we have a different focus on a different day:

  • Saturday, October 19th: 
    • Fursuit/Board/Video Games 
    • Photo Opportunities
    • Panels
  • Sunday, October 20th: 
    • Vendor Hall
    • Flea market
    • Raffling

This is something we're experimenting as it allows us to give our full attention to the relative activity happening on that day. Also, it allows YOU as an attendee to pick which days you'd like to attend to based on what you're looking for. Of course, we want you to come to both and support panelists and vendors--the choice is ultimately yours!

Now that we're running on 3 years (or rather, 3 minicons that have happened), we want to keep trying new and exciting things so we y'all to let us know what you'll like to see! We also want individuals to voice what they didn't like and how we can improve for the next year. After all, we are a "mini" con, which allows much more flexibility than a regular con year after year.

🍑Additional Notes

  • Itinerary: As the day of the MiniCon comes closer, we'll be releasing an itinerary with all of the times for panels and specific activities for Saturday, and who is vending on Sunday. We're finalizing those notes up and should be expected by the start of the month.
  • ID: We will be checking people's IDs on entry to confirm their tickets, so make sure you have an ID ready to show at the event!
  • Minors: Anyone under 18 MUST have a legal guardian present with them when they check-in to the MiniCon. Otherwise we will not grant entry to the MiniCon.
  • Raffle: The raffle will only take place on Sunday, meaning you have to be present on Sunday to receive a raffling ticket to receive some swag!
  • Rules: We expect people to abide by the policies listed on our GAF Policies. Any additional policies will be added when we give out our itinerary, so be sure to check them out when they go live.
  • Volunteers: This MiniCon is ran by staff of FWA, who are volunteering their time and efforts to provide this experience.
  • Growth: This is a "mini" con. The effort is to make a get-together that imitates the con experience on a much smaller scale--closer to a furmeet--that people can enjoy. This event will grow to be able to provide more activities and opportunities the more we do it and the more you attend. With your contributions, you're actively helping us provide more for our local community--for that we thank you so much!
