Description
Greetings!
Champions Gym is proud to announce the return of “Girls Fight Back” 2023 Sunday 26th February. This annual event that will be held at Champions Gym - 23 Shields Crescent, Myaree. We aim at raising $30,000 for Breast Cancer WA.
What is it?
Originally established by Claire Scullin in 2009, Girls Fight Back unites Western Australia’s vibrant combat sports community to raise much-needed awareness for women’s cancer research and men’s health in a fun-filled, light contact sparring matches with women of all ages, shapes, sizes and walks of life, coming together to experience what it’s like to be in centre ring with the support of friends, family and team mates dressed in pink.
Historically, the event has raised on average $15,000 with 40-50 bouts on the day, but this time, we aim to smash that and want to bring together 100 bouts on the day with two boxing rings in action at once with the overall goal of $30,000.
Our Vision
With the inclusion of Muay Thai in the Olympics, our aim is to create a platform that will ignite, inspire, and empower women from a grassroots level fostering a fun, safe and welcoming environment for all to be a part of; with the end goal seeing future female Olympians in Boxing and Muay Thai representing Australia.
If we can raise much needed funds and awareness for charity along the way, we will do whatever we can to support them.
