Description

"Heal The Land" -

A benefit for the Wixarika Peyote Guardians of Mexico.

Hosted by The Psychedelic Society of New Orleans and Jonah Tobias. Sponsored by Benton Tree Service and Beloved NOLA.

Join us for a night of traditional healers and conscious community as we welcome the Wixarika to New Orleans.

The Wixarika are a Pre-Colombian Indigenous Peoples who have preserved their culture, cosmology, and healing practices, including their ceremony with the sacred peyote. Faced with threats from mining interests to their place of pilgrimage, the Wirikuta desert in Mexico, and the exploitation of the greater earth, the Elders of the Wixarika are traveling as missionaries to spread their knowledge and help heal the land.
