Description

The Museum of Work and Culture and the Woonsocket Harris Public Library will host the first program in their bi-monthly free educational series for homeschool families.

October’s program will explore the topics of immigration, refugees, and coming to America. The program will begin at the Library at 10:00 am, where families will participate in an interactive story time which will highlight immigrant and refugee experiences.

At 11:00 am, participants will move to the Museum of Work and Culture where the children will take a guided tour of the new temporary exhibit Welcome Blanket. Afterward, they will learn about the ways people come to America, why someone might make that decision, and discuss what it means to be American.

Space is limited and registration is required. Contact mowc@rihs.org for questions.
