The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.

Chef Kanthi brings the authentic tastes of Punjab to the Community Kitchen, sharing his professional cooking techniques and flavour combinations so you can prepare a delicious Punjabi meal in Brighton.
Punjab is know for its rich and flavourful cuisine, perfect for a satisfying and tasty evening meal, a Friday night or for entertaining friends. Kanthi will take you step by step through his favourite dishes from the region, before you sit down around our communal dining table to enjoy what you have made.
A typical menu will include:
- Butter Chicken or Paneer (veggie alternative)
- Chana masala- a hearty North Indian curry made with chickpeas.
- Baingan Bharta- A Smoky aubergine dish made with a blend of spices. garlic and ginger.
- Traditional flatbread
Dietary information: This class is adaptable for a vegetarian diets but this must be specified when booking. Unfortunately this class is not adaptable to a vegan or gluten free diet (many of Kanthi's other classes are). The class involves cooking with nuts.
