Innocence Project New Orleans is thrilled to announce that the "Oh, Freedom!" Gala and Patron Events will be held Friday, October 13th, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., celebrating our clients and presenting the 2023 John Thompson Award for Courage and Justice to Flozell Daniels, Jr.

This annual event supports IPNO'S mission to free the wrongly convicted and unjustly sentenced. Join us for an extraordinary evening featuring live entertainment, premiere local cuisine, a recent short film on our program LLEAD, and an exclusive silent auction curated by our "Oh, Freedom!" Gala Committee.

Our 22nd Anniversary Celebration kicks off with a Patron Party on October 13, 2023 from 5:00 - 6:30 pm. The Patron Party will be at the Broadside at their newly constructed event space. Our recently freed clients Raymond Flanks, Larry Moses and Jerry Davis will join us. Raymond will share with you what it has been like to be wrongly imprisoned for 38 years and how he has been rebuilding his life since his exoneration in November 2022.

Following our Patron Party, our Gala Celebration with 45+ of our clients and their families, and hundreds of community supporters, leaders, allies and friends will take off from 6:30 – 9:30 pm. The Celebration will be at the Broadside with open bar, delicious food, a silent auction, music and more.

In our 22 years, we have won the freedom of 63 wrongly incarcerated or unjustly sentenced people. Every freed client receives lifetime re-entry support and services because re-entry is a lifetime journey. We do this work at no cost to our clients or their families. Freedom is not free and our criminal justice system is not always just.

Will you join us in our fight for freedom and justice?
