Join us for an exciting concept: the fusion of Japanese food & movies that celebrate this cuisine.

Our first screening is Juzo Itami's revolutionary ' Ramen Western', Tampopo!

Each film will be paired with a special item: for this screening, Chef Wataru Saeki will be serving Tsukemen Ramen, a spin on ramen in which the noodles are dipped into a separate cup of broth.

Nikkei kitchen opens at 5 & the movie will screen in our pavilion at 8pm.

In this humorous paean to the joys of food, a pair of truck drivers happen onto a decrepit roadside shop selling ramen noodles. The widowed owner, Tampopo, begs them to help her turn her establishment into a paragon of the “art of noodle-soup making”. Interspersed are satirical vignettes about the importance of food to different aspects of human life.

FAQ

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •   Our outdor space has a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
