Description
In their respective pieces, choreographers Jesse Bie and Jessica Fudim are each looking at a storyteller's presence within the tales they weave. Jesse tackles the malleability of his own memory in Young Gods, Reimagined, a revisiting of one of his seminal dance works in which he culls the perspective of his dancers from decades past, and compares them with his own recollections. Jessica's dance-theater solo, Venomous, asks--What would Medusa say if she finally had a chance to speak for herself? After centuries of Greek myths that omit her own voice, she invites the audience to see things from Medusa's perspective and move her narrative beyond that of a snake-headed monster.
