Description
Kids 7- 12 years old will learn how to break down a landscape into different components. This is a multimedia class employing, collage and painting.
Students will Exame the scene to visually communicate what they see. Learn tricks to quickly establish depth of field and distinguish between background, midground and foreground. Examine how shadow, light and atmospheric haze play into our understanding of distance.
The innate creativity of children is one of their greatest gifts, art instruction is approached here with a light touch, introducing ideas through short description and demonstrations followed by two projects that will serve as a great visual guide for future projects and paintings.
Group discussion on the importance of art as an outlet, and as a tool to communicate.
All children start out drawing, very few continue to draw past middle school. There are so many reasons to continue drawing, everything around us from our shoes to our houses, started with a drawing! The class will give students tools to keep art in their communication toolbox.
By keeping the pace fast, we can introduce a number of concepts while keeping kids engaged and avoid over-thinking or losing focus.
All materials included.
