The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.
Description
Learn to chop like a pro in this short, sharp workshop from Chef Kanthi.
You will learn a range of different cuts such as chop, slice, mince, julienne, paysanne and chiffonnade. Practice your skills on a range of different vegetables and core ingredients. Then finish by working in pairs to prepare and cook prawns (or tofu) to create a delicious, Asian inspired salad which you will sit and enjoy together.
Chef Kanthi has taught hundreds of people knife skills and other cookery techniques when working at Jamie Oliver's Recipease before he set up the Curry Leaf Cafe and Easy Tiger. Find out more about Kanthi and the other cooks who teach in the Community Kitchen.
