Description
Have you ever wanted to learn how to make Sauerkraut? Perhaps you have made it before but haven't done it in a while? Or maybe you just haven't had time to get it done this season and need a kick start? Whatever the case, join us for a mass Kraut making day at Brickendon Estate in Longford.
On the day we will take you through the basic science of fermentation and supply you with a Beginners Guide to Fermentation and some recipes to take home. We will also have a discussion around the benefits of fermenting to our health and well-being and why they are an important part of a healthy diet. We will then step you through the process of making a traditional Sauerkraut and a Red Kraut to which you will be able to add additional flavours of your choice. You will then be able to take a bottle of each home with you to watch and develop over time. We will also provide you with ongoing support via a Facebook group over the fermentation period so you can post your questions, pictures and results.
Once we are done you will be able to enjoy one of our famous grazing table lunches of delicious Tasmanian produce and network with other guests. Wine will be available for purchase should you like to indulge.
