PRESS REVIEWS

"La Dame Blanche has been on a crusade to challenge genres and expectations; on her new album, she reaches her goal. Hip-hop and Cuban music are her points of reference, but Ella's mash-up power resides in La Dame Blanche's always impressive musical vision." NPR (USA)

"The album offers heart heavy hip-hop rubies, cumbia diamonds, dancehall gold laid with the finest, shiniest, catchiest, I-f***s-with-it-hardiest lyrical gems." Latin Alt (USA)

"The album takes us on a journey of identity via a sonic weaving through genres that express her identity as an artist, while also exploring deeper issues around the many different embodiments of being an Afro-Cuban woman in today’s world." Afropop Worldwide (USA)

"With Ella, La Dame Blanche isn’t scared to turn the mirror inwards in order to start much- needed conversations. Through her own empowerment, she encourages women to find their own. She peels her layers before our eyes without an inch of self-judgment and the result is absolutely powerful." Remezcla (USA)

"La Dame Blanche makes pulsing music that merges hip-hop, reggae and Latin beats." Washington Post (USA)

"La Dame Blanche is best experienced live, wielding her flute like a weapon. But this fourth LP – her best yet – bottles her attitude-laden vibe." Songlines (UK)

"A party record with plenty of lyrical punch." The Stratford Beacon Herald (Canada)

"These are songs to strengthen women, emphasising autonomy and showing that men need to review their concepts on various issues. ELLA is more than essential in this moment we currently find ourselves." Sounds and Colours (UK)
