Enjoy a unique holiday experience at the popular Lights by the Lake foot tour that opens the annual Lake Julian Festival of Lights. This is the only way to experience the light show from the perspective of a stroll through the festival. New for this year, we've opened the show for walking guests for two nights on December 2nd and 3rd! Purchase your tickets in advance as this event has sold out for the past few years.
Evenings will be filled with holiday craft-making with LEAF Easel Rider teaching artists, fire circle, snacks, and family-friendly activities.
Lake Julian Festival of Lights has become a tradition for many mountain families and visitors. A portion of the proceeds benefit Buncombe County Special Olympics.
Admission is $5 and kids 16 and under get in free! Wear comfortable shoes, warm clothing, and be prepared to walk over half a mile on a paved walkway. The walkway is of moderate difficulty with some inclines. Parents with young children are welcome to bring strollers or wagons. Pets are not permitted at the walk through. Parking will be available at Estes Elementary School. Cars will not be permitted to enter the park.
