Description
Grown as an ornamental, to keep mosquitoes away, as a part of your kitchen garden, or for medicinal use or crafts, there are a wide range of reasons to grow lavender. A rewarding challenge to grow, adding a timeless element any garden. Maryland is not it's desired home, too humid, too much clay in the soil, but that is ok! Leaning on 12 years of experience, this workshop covers a lot of ground quickly, participants are encouraged to bring pictures of existing lavender plants, their yard, and where they would like to plant.
We teach lavender propagation methods that can also be used on other plants. How to find the best location for your plant, how to harvest. We cover what is probably the most important and overlooked topic, how and when to prune your plants.
We will discuss the changes to our farm practices because of seasonal and temperature changes, along with many aspects of living and working with herbs.
This is a private chance to visit the farm during hours we are closed to the public, class participants receive 10% off products on class day.
