Our mission is to empower LGBTQIA+ and women in comedy, arts and community. In an industry still heavily dominated by straight, white, cisgender men, we need opportunities created by and for us.
In 2021, Lavender Laughs started as a grassroots open mic in Atlanta, quickly evolving to include booked shows. In 2022, we expanded to New York City with shows and mics, and as of 2025, Lavender Laughs NYC operates in Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Queens. We have a sibling organization in Kitchener-Waterloo (Ontario, Canada), Lavender Fizz, and rumor has it, LL will be in the Windy City pretty soon!
