Description

Join us at Acre Knot a 5-acre closed loop homestead for an expertly crafted cold lunch kit.  After we eat there will be a brief presentation from our host and farmer Johanna Bystrom, who will then introduce you to our flock of Icelandic sheep and their 6 new lambs!  There will be a guaranteed lamb snuggle with Gigi our bottle fed ewe lamb, and curious approaches from the other more reserved lamb gang, Mary, Jane, Tweedy, Twill & Woolf (Gigi's brother!).

Please select & confirm your tickets from one of our two available time slots.  Bring your favorite picnic blanket & get ready for an hour and a half of farm fun.

Sundays Only

11am or 2pm

Group size maximum of 6 people, and masks are required except while seated and eating.  You may remove masks for photos within your group and while distanced from other parties.

Lunch Information & Dates:

May 23 & 30 lunches provided by Cellar Door Preserves (Biscuits, whipped chevre, local Michigan grown preserves, Acre Knot hardboiled eggs & snackable charcuterie from Louise Earl). May date attendees will get to witness the installation of a mural on our barn by our friend Dayna of Solstice Handmade

June lunches will have more allergen flexibility, so if you have food restrictions we'd recommend the following dates:

June 6 & 13 lunch provided by Shaker & Swine (thank you chef Daren!)

June 20 & 27 with Louise Earl Butcher (thank you chef Abby!)

As your ticketed date approaches be on the lookout for an email update including the lunch kit menu for your date.  Lunch tickets are required for everyone 12 years or older.  Multiple tickets can be purchased for extra portions or leftovers, we encourage parents to share with their children under 12 or buy siblings  a lunch to share as portions will not be altered into a kiddie menu to keep logistics simple for our chefs.  Tips for lambs and the winter care fund will be accepted at the event.  Cost of the event covers the expense of the food provided.

*Other information: Please note this is Farmer Johanna & Jay's actual home, we are a work in progress (this is our first real farming season, with everyone in one spot!) & during your visit you may see evidence of this, at this time the farmhouse will not be open to our lunch guests, for your comfort we have rented an outhouse that will be maintained regularly for visitor bathroom breaks. We are an operating farm in progress, there will be tripping hazards such as potholes & we encourage parents to help guide their kids safely through these obstacles.  No fence/gate climbing permitted for safety and respect reasons. Wear sturdy shoes, bring bug/sunscreen and get expect the wonders of lambs.  Do note that by agreeing to attend this event you also accept full responsibility for your actions & wellbeing.  You will not hold, Jay, Johanna our partners, the chickens, ducks or sheep accountable for any personal injury or other acts of gods that could potentially occur.    Thank you for supporting the environment and local food systems through your attendance.  We also ask that if you are sick, you stay home.  Johanna will deliver your lunch doorstep or it can be donated to make someone in need a brighter day & we will schedule a makeup date for lamb snuggles when you are well again.

At this time Lunch with Lamb pre-orders are non-refundable as the chef's time and farmer's resources deserve compensation.  If circumstances interfere please contact Johanna directly for makeup date solutions.  Lunch cannot be made again, but a time with lambs can!
