The Brighton & Hove Food Partnership's Community Kitchen is a cookery school where everyone can cook, learn new skills and enjoy food with others. We want everyone to experience the benefits of cooking and eating together. By paying for a cookery class, you help other people to attend cookery activities, regardless of finance, confidence or ability, and to make lasting changes to their lives.
Description
Felicity Cloake, the award-winning author of the Guardian’s long-running How to Make the Perfect recipe column, joins us at the Community Kitchen for a very special masterclass event.
This is your chance to learn new techniques and tried-and-tested recipes with an award-winning food writer & author. At this class, Felicity will share with you some of her favourite French dishes to impress - ideal for entertaining and dinner parties or just a special night in.
During the session you will work in pairs to create a typical menu which celebrates the heritage of French cuisine and the beginnings of spring ingredients:
- Celeri remoulade with Bayonne ham and toasted walnuts
- Petits pois à la française with crispy confit duck
- Iles flottantes ('Floating Island' meringues in creme anglaise)
After you finish creating your dishes, Felicity will join you at the table, alongside a specially matched wine as you enjoy your meal at the end of the Masterclass.
