Le Chat Noir is doing a theatre camp!
Ages 8-12 (20 spots) & 13-16 (20 spots)
Puppetry track (Ben Snead)- Students will be introduced to various styles of puppetry: shadow puppetry, rod puppetry, hand puppetry, and Banraku; and will learn to build, manipulate, and perform with puppets.
Stagecraft (Krys Bailey)- Students will experience a broad range of technical theatre and performance art. Technical theatre lessons include basic stagecraft & special effects like air powered rigs, injury make-up, the crankie, goo (green goo for younger students, blood effects for older students) Performance art lessons will cover basics of improv, mask work, stage combat.

On Saturday June 24th there will be a one hour recital showcasing what students worked on that week.
MY KID WANTS TO DO THIS, WHAT DO I DO NOW?
Register online and purchase their spot. (Registration is $150, ticket link will be live soon please be patient) We will send you necessary forms, you fill them out, and send back. Show up on time the day of and be ready to get silly.
Students will be required to wear closed toe shoes and clothes that they can get messy and allow freedom of movement.
There will be homework, but it will be fun. A list of suggested items to bring (like they would to school i.e. pencil, ruler, scissors, etc.) will be sent with registration form.
The instructors:
Ben Snead formerly of Ben and Keeter Puppets has been a professional puppeteer for over 40 years and a two time award winner from the Jim Henson Foundation for his work with cerebral palsy patients.
Krys Bailey has over 30 years of experience as a professional performance artist with varied vocations including scenic art, directing, acting, stage effects and stage combat & stunt choreography.
