Description

Meadowlark Nature Festival Opening and Film Night

Come join us for Opening Night of the 2025 Meadowlark Nature Festival with a celebration of restoration and recovery through film.

Presented each year by the Okanagan Similkameen Conservation Alliance, the Meadowlark Nature Festival (May 15th-19th) offers interactive, outdoor events that explore and celebrate the spectacular natural environment of the Okanagan Similkameen. Taking participants from unique semi-arid ecosystems in the south, to alpine meadows high above the valleys, the festival connects people with nature, engaging and inspiring them to protect the unique habitats and species of our region and our planet.

Opening night will screen the work of BC environmental filmmakers including award winning films Grizzly Rewild (introduced in person by filmmaker Brad Quenville) and Waterbodies: Kinship in False Creek, as well as two short films that tell inspiring local conservation stories, Joint Nations Grizzly Bear Recoveryand Save Sickle Point. Also look forward to taking a virtual hike with incredible footage of the Kilpoola Lake region (a designated Important Bird Area), narrated for us by local ecologist, writer and Meadowlark tour leader Don Gayton.
