Join MODA and Black Voters Matter (BVM) for a special day of community, creativity, and civic engagement as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy. This free-admission event is sponsored by Black Voters Matter and marks the final day to experience CHARACTERS: Type in Action, an exhibition that explores typography as a tool for social justice.
Bring your design questions, learn about his career journey, seek his expert advice, ask him what he's working on, or simply explore the world of design with a pro. It's a unique opportunity to engage with one of the industry's best in an interactive and inspiring environment. Don’t miss out—stop by and get inspired!
- Explore MODA’s current exhibition, CHARACTERS: Type in Action: Witness the stories of typefaces inspired by movements for equity and justice.
- Values Out Loud with Paint Love: Participate in an interactive art-making experience designed to spark creativity and reflection.
- Documentary Screening & Presentation: Watch a short documentary and join a community conversation led by Black Voters Matter
- Food & Free Merch: Enjoy complimentary merchandise and grab a bite from a local food truck provided by BVM.
This day is more than an event—it's a celebration of design, democracy, and the power of collective voices to drive change.
Come make your voice heard, celebrate community, and honor a legacy of progress. We can’t wait to see you there!
Accessibility: Designers with different styles of learning or special needs are welcome in MODA public programs. We will be able to most effectively help everyone learn and enjoy this experience if we know about those needs in advance of the program. Please email miranda@museumofdesign.org with questions or information.
Cancellation Policy: MODA reserves the right to cancel a program if the minimum enrollment requirements are not met, but don't worry: should MODA have to cancel, we will gladly issue a full refund to all registrants. If you need to cancel your plans for any reason, we kindly request that you notify us at least 7 days prior to the event start. By doing so, we can process a refund for the ticket cost (minus a small $10 processing fee per class). Unfortunately, we cannot provide refunds for cancellations made less than 7 days before an event.
Photo Disclaimer: Pictures and videos will be captured during MODA public programs and may be published on the official website, social media, and newsletters of the Museum of Design Atlanta. If you do not wish to appear on these platforms, please write to felicia@museumofdesign.org.
