Nashville Songwriters live in Urbana

Description

We first heard Olivia Rudeen at a listening room show in Nashville. Her lyrics and heartfelt singing stood out. We had to meet her, and she agreed to come to Champaign-Urbana for a songwriters-in-the-round show. We worked together to select three like-minded songcrafters from around Nashville to join us for this show. Zoe Cummins, Hunter Nelson, and  Michael Conley. Order a mocktail from Gallery’s sober-friendly menu (or a cocktail if you prefer), and sit down to listen to these four professional songwriters whisk you away. We’ll cover the walls with matching visual imagery using Gallery’s surround-projection system.

Our mission is to increase appreciation of songwriting and musical expression by presenting musicians selected for artistic quality and positive human impact; and to support the development of songwriters and musicians creating and performing this music.

Nashville "In-The-Round"
... is a format unique to the Nashville songwriting community. It's an opportunity for a listening audience to hear the most authentic and pristine version of a song as the original writer(s) intended it to be heard and probably closest to the way it sounded on the day of its inception. It's also a chance for the songwriters to interact with the crowd and share stories about the songs and their creation. Often, (as is the case with this round) songwriters will perform with other songwriters who they've collaborated with and share the results of those collaborations. It's a distinctive window into the creative process and bones and heart of the songs.
