Description

Join your friends at Nature Conservancy in South Carolina to kayak the first leg of the longest free flowing section of the Catawba River in South Carolina. You'll be joined by Councilman Roo George-Warren from the Catawba Nation and Catawba Riverkeeper staff. We will meet at Riverwalk Greenway in Rock Hill, SC and shuttle up to the start of our paddling journey at the Lake Wylie Dam in Fort Mill, SC. Expect gently flowing water and class 1 shoals on this 1.5-hour guided kayak trip concluding at Riverwalk. Catawba Riverkeeper will provide the equipment and shuttle along with kayak instruction and guidance down the river. The water and temperature will potentially be on the chilly side so we will have wetsuits and splash jackets on-site if you choose to use them. Otherwise, please dress accordingly to keep warm while and to get wet.
