Looking for ways to accelerate your new product offerings or for a high-potential innovation to build a company around? Join the Central Florida Tech Grove, NavalX Central Florida Tech Bridge, NavalX Mid-West Tech Bridge, and NSWC Crane for a Tech Expo @ Tech Grove
The Naval Surface Warfare Center Crane Division is one of the key research and development centers in the US Navy creating innovative solutions for Electronic Warfare and full lifecycle support of multi-domain, multi-spectral EW systems, Special Operations Weapons, Sensor Integration, and Weaponry for the Expeditionary Warfighter.
On August 15, Naval scientists and innovators from Crane will demonstrate and discuss three examples of world-class, patented tech they've developed. They'll explain how the Navy is currently using it, and provide examples of how the tech could be commercialized into a product or platform. The technologies that will be showcased include:
- Drone tracking technology: an innovative system that uses imaging sensors to monitor for light reflections off of metals, polymers, and other manufactured materials, enabling it to detect, identify, and track drones at long-range distances.
- Junctional tourniquet: a ready-to-market tourniquet solution, shaped like a hockey puck, that stops bleeding in hard-to-reach places (such as an armpit). This one is fully designed and just needs someone to take it to market.
- Pressure Discriminating Cartridge Chamber: a patent-pending chamber designed to offer enhanced safety in a wide range of applications, easily integrated into multiple types of firearms, and offering reduced risks of unexpected live round use encountered during blank firing activities.
- Silent ATV (All Terrain Vehicle): a robust engineering and technical demonstrator prototype solution that includes the electrical system of a high-speed electric ATV with open architecture to allow future enhancements such as modification of the commercial vehicle chassis, a specified max range per battery, a high maximum speed, an all-wheel drive drivetrain, and a two battery capacity with three different power outputs.
After the technology presentations, attendees will have a chance to talk with the scientists to learn more.
Members of the NSWC Crane Technology Transfer team will be present as well to share information on the many ways you can partner with Crane to access these or any of the other 300+ patented innovations they have, collaborate in R&D, access expertise, and provide solutions.
Members of the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) will also be on-site to share information about technologies and partnership opportunities they offer.
Don't miss this unique opportunity to gain access to the NavalX defense ecosystem and its powerful business opportunities!
Who are NSWC Crane?
Naval Surface Warfare Center, Crane Division (NSWC Crane), located in Crane, Indiana is a shore command of the U.S. Navy. NSWC Crane is under the Naval Sea Systems Command headquartered in Washington DC.
NSWC's mission is to deliver innovative solutions and readiness to the Nation and its Warfighters through application of our Technical Capabilities. Advance all-domain system of systems within the Mission Areas of Electronic Warfare, Expeditionary Warfare, and Strategic Missions. Conduct science and technology, research, development, test and evaluation, acquisition and in-service engineering across the Defense life-cycles. Execute other responsibilities as assigned by the Commander, Naval Surface Warfare Center.
The focus of NSWC Crane is Harnessing the Power of Technology for the Warfighter. It specializes in total lifecycle support in three focus areas:
The Central Florida Tech Grove is a hub for accelerating collaboration and innovation in defense modeling, simulation, training, and human performance. Tech Grove is located in the Central Florida Research Park in Orlando, Florida which is the epicenter of the nation's largest cluster of government, industry, academic, and industry organizations developing and delivering training and simulation products for our nation's military. Tech Grove was established in 2020 through a Partnership Intermediary Agreement (PIA) between the Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAWCTSD) and the University of Central Florida Research Foundation. Ten other Department of Defense entities are Tech Grove members with NAWCTSD: US Army Program Executive Office for Simulation Training and Instrumentation (PEO STRI), US Air Force Agency for Modeling & Simulation (AFAMS), US Marine Corps Program Manager for Training Systems (PM TRASYS), US Army Simulation & Training Technology Center (STTC), US Army Futures Command Synthetic Training Environment Cross-Functional Team (STE CFT), Defense Health Agency (DHA), U.S. Space Force Space Training and Readiness Command (STARCOM), Strategic Environmental Research and Development (SERDP), Army Modeling Simulation Office (AMSO), and the Office of Naval Research through the NavalX Central Florida Tech Bridge.
