In April 2024, OPLIAM released his highly anticipated fourth album, “Apocalypse Dance Party.” signaling a new chapter in his musical journey. This dynamic project showcases his evolution as an artist, promising listeners an immersive and unforgettable experience. To celebrate the album’s launch, OPLIAM embarks on a National tour, bringing his electrifying performances to fans across the US.

But OPLIAM’s creative talents extend far beyond the realm of music. In 2022, he made waves in the literary world with the publication of his debut book,  “Indigenous America,” a captivating exploration of the true history of the United States aimed at young readers. OPLIAM is a Mohawk descendant; his family originates from Kahnawake and were enrolled tribal members of the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe (Akwesasne). He remains deeply rooted in his identity. OPLIAM continues to explore and share his cultural heritage through both his music and his writing.

Isabeau Waia’u Walker — “Bright gloom;” “joy adjacent;” “island of broken, demented toys:” futile attempts to answer the impossible questions of genre when it comes to Isabeau Waia’u Walker. Hailing from her homeland Hawaii; the latter half of her life in Oregon’s Pacific Northwest.  Her feet and roots are always close to the shores of the Pacific Ocean (yearning for and pulled by her packs) unless touring with Y La Bamba, in which she sings backup vocals.

Isabeau Waia’u Walker‘s life of experience, observations and negotiations with race, culture, gender and class inextricably woven into her purpose and product. She is plagued by dichotomies: brilliant and gloomy all at once in her stories, in her songs, in performances. Soothing and soft with power, accessible while complex, melancholic in joy, hope and celebration, angry and playful, sweet but aching, tender but relentless. Songs of love, community, fight, life and self. She lives in attractive vulnerability and an appreciated humility, down to earth, despite the power of her performances and music being palpable. Her early retirement as a full time secondary school teacher in 2019 has allowed her to tour and record more, releasing her EP, Better Metric, in 2020, her first LP, Body, in 2022 with Ryan Oxford at The Center for Sound, Light and Color with engineer and bandmate, Ryan Oxford. Since her releases, she’s unsurprisingly she’s caught the attention of and has been featured in and on OPB, Live Wire Radio, Vortex Music Magazine, Willamette Week, KEXP and many other publications and programs. This last year has been dedicated to the anticipated release of her upcoming third record to be released in 2024, an LP titled Heavyweight.
