Paint your Pop Art Pet with Southern Drawl Arts!

Back by popular demand, Sara Brown of Southern Drawl Arts  is bringing another fantastic watercolor pet portrait class to Lex Center for Creative Reuse, this time in a fun, engaging pop art style!

Watercolor is a fun, relaxing, and forgiving paint to work with, and with the expert instruction provided, you will soon have a perfect (purrfect? pawfect?) portrait of your furry friend.  The teaching artist for this class has an MA in art education.

For this beginner-friendly class, you will bring a photograph of your pet and Sarah will teach you how to draw and paint your pet in the popular (pop!) and dynamic style that is welcoming to newbie artists and seasoned drawing enthusiasts alike.  

 

Accessibility information:

• For this class, fine motor control including the ability to grasp and manipulate pencils and paintbrushes are helpful.
• This class DOES NOT require any previous watercolor or drawing experience.
• Though lessened with watercolor, all paint classes have the possibility of being a bit messy. We encourage students to wear clothing that they are comfortable getting a bit of paint on.
• This class will happen in the gallery space upstairs, which is accessed by an outer staircase.
