Description
Paranormal summer camp is the perfect way to spend a summer evening, whether you are curious about the supernatural, love history in all its forms, or want to try something new. Hosted in a 168-year-old house museum, the camp will start with a presentation about the property's history before moving to paranormal investigation techniques and conclude with a two-hour investigation led by a certified medium.
About the Alexander Majors House Museum: Built in 1856, the Alexander Majors House originally served as the base of operations for Majors’ overland shipping company, Russell, Majors & Waddell. Majors was instrumental in the opening of the West, both through his freighting company and his co-ownership of the Pony Express. Visitors will learn about his life and businesses, as well as westward expansion and nineteenth-century life.
From a restless blacksmith to a caretaker who has truly made the home her permanent residence, many ghost stories swirl around the Major’s House. Paranormal investigators agree the House is a paranormal hotspot. Nationally recognized as a haunted location, the Majors House’s paranormal activity has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and Haunted Places: The National Directory.
Ages sixteen and up are welcome. All minors need to be accompanied by an adult.*
Participants must be able to stand, walk, and ascend and descend stairs during the tour. Some accommodations may be made with advance notice.
*An all-ages camp is available earlier in the evening.
