Description
Paranormal summer camp is the perfect way to spend a summer evening as a family, whether you are curious about the supernatural, love history in all its forms, or want to try something new. Hosted in a 168-year-old house museum, the camp will include a short presentation about the history of the property, an introduction to paranormal basics, a craft, and a one-hour investigation led by a certified medium.
This is not designed to be an educational rather than a scary event. Ages eight and up are recommended, but all ages can attend with parental discretion.* All minors must be accompanied by an adult.
About the Alexander Majors House Museum: Built in 1856, the Alexander Majors House originally served as the base of operations for Majors’ overland shipping company, Russell, Majors & Waddell. Majors was instrumental in the opening of the West, both through his freighting company and his co-ownership of the Pony Express. Visitors will learn about his life and businesses, as well as westward expansion and nineteenth-century life.
From a restless blacksmith to a caretaker who has truly made the home her permanent residence, many ghost stories swirl around the Major’s House. Paranormal investigators agree the House is a paranormal hotspot. Nationally recognized as a haunted location, the Majors House’s paranormal activity has been featured in the Los Angeles Times and Haunted Places: The National Directory.
*An adult only camp takes place later in the evening.
