*Passover at the House of Israel Hebrew Culture Center is a significant observance in the Israelite faith and is a time to reflect on the story of God freeing the Israelites from slavery in Egypt. This commemoration is steeped in tradition and significance, and it is important to understand and respect the customs associated with the holiday.

*One such custom is the wearing of white clothing. The tradition of wearing white dates back over 60 years and is seen as a symbol of spiritual purity and the renewal of life that is celebrated during Passover. By adhering to this custom, individuals are demonstrating their respect for the holiday and the traditions associated with it.

*Similarly, there is a dress code for Passover that should be observed. Shorts, jeans, tank tops, and T-shirts are considered inappropriate, as are see-through clothing. Women must wear knee-length skirts or dresses. This dress code is in place to show respect for the holiness of the occasion and to maintain the solemnity of the service.

*Another important aspect of Passover is the requirement to avoid bringing outside food or snacks into the synagogue. This is because there should be no leavening found on one's person or in their dwellings during the holiday. This is a symbolic reminder of the story in Exodus where the Israelites had to leave Egypt quickly and did not have time to let their bread rise. By adhering to this requirement, individuals are showing their respect for the holiday and its traditions.

*The solemn customs associated with Passover are an important part of the holiday's significance and are meant to be respected and observed. By adhering to these traditions, individuals are demonstrating their reverence for the holiday and its story and are helping to maintain the solemnity and holiness of the occasion.
