Peter, Paul and Mary Alive
The only authentic performance of the original Folk legends.
This irresistible group brings back the American Folk Music Revival phenomenon when Peter, Paul and Mary’s music and messages were so important to our culture.
The original Peter, Paul and Mary took over the social commentary of Folk music in the 1960s, and their non-stop hits made them a worldwide sensation.
Peter, Paul and Mary were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 1999. In 2006 they received the Sammy Cahn Lifetime Achievement Award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
The Peter Paul and Mary Alive show brings back the same great music and messages that are still so relevant in our world today – with impeccable accuracy to the authentic look, feel, and sound of the original group.
Their connection with the audience is what make this group so irresistible, as they deliver the unforgettable music with humor and fun stories of the past. The show energizes and engages audiences across the globe.
Peter Gordon, who portrays Peter Yarrow, is the founder and director of Peter Paul and Mary Alive. He is a Cantor and Music and Art Director who recently performed Opera at the Venetian Hotel and Resort.
It was the music of Peter Paul and Mary that caught Peter’s attention when he was in 7th grade. Within days, he bought a guitar and started teaching himself to play. When he was a teenager, the Folk music craze had taken over Greenwich Village and Peter’s father had a nearby business. So he spent his summers at Washington Square learning from Peter, Paul and Mary, and the other famous Folk masters who performed there.
Later, at Indiana University, Peter was formally trained on the violin and vocals. He has been professionally performing for 45 years, but now he’s back to his first love – playing guitar and singing Folk music.
Dutch Clapp sings the part of Noel Paul Stookey. Dutch has played guitar since he was eight years old. When he was twelve, the ’60s Folk revival began and it was Peter, Paul & Mary who inspired him to become serious about music. He modeled his playing and vocal style after Paul Stookey.
Drafted into the Viet Nam War, Dutch entertained the troops in France, Germany and in the states. After receiving his BA degree in film and television production, Dutch concentrated on composing movie scores. He performed regularly for over 20 years and now he is back to his first love, singing the music of Peter, Paul & Mary.
Joanie Brown, playing Mary Travers, joined the trio in 2011, transitioning to a music career after her endeavors in engineering, natural medicine, acupuncture, and education. A lifelong singer and dancer, Joanie’s résumé includes the Las Vegas Ribbon of Life® “Golden Rainbow” production and “Unstoppable,” a Vegas variety revue. She was drawn to this Folk music because of its uncompromising themes of reform, freedom, justice, and love.
