Philly Sketchfest returns for a two-night celebration on October 21-22, 2022 with acts from Philadelphia, New York City, Toronto, Chicago, Virginia, Greensboro, Chicago, and Washington DC. Crossroads Comedy Theater is this year's presenting partner. This block features Brick Penguin, Joy Provision, and Bill Reick and His More Talented Friends.
ABOUT BRICK PENGUIN: Brick Penguin is a high-octane sketch comedy group based in Washington, DC. They have been writing and performing live sketch comedy since 2010 and have been featured in festivals in New York, Chicago, Boston, Philadelphia, North Carolina, and Baltimore. Often irreverent, sometimes shocking, sporadically intelligent, and that one time with a “splash zone,” they entertain audiences with comedy shows that are boisterous, loud, and fun. They are Murphy McHugh, Amy Vance, Jim Tatalias, Chelie Setzer, and Sarah Fell. “Is it funny? Yes. Should I bring children…? No.” – The Washington Post. Brick Penguin previously performed at Philly Sketchfest in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019.
ABOUT JOY PROVISION: You know, Love makes the world go round. Like petrol and secrets. Joy Provision (aka Rena Taylor and Ethan Resendes) is gonna smack you upside the head with radical acceptance, all while caressing your funny bone with whispers of sweet nonsense. This is Joy Provision’s first time at Philly Sketchfest and their U.S. debut.
ABOUT BILL REICK AND HIS MORE TALENTED FRIENDS: Bill Reick started his comedy journey in Philadelphia and then moved to Chicago to continue doing sketch comedy. But now, he’s coming back, and he’s bringing some of his more talented friends. It’s sketch comedy for the discerning viewer. Bill Reick has previously performed at Philly Sketchfest in 2016, 2017, and 2018 with It’s the New.
