Life is good for Elizabeth and Zach. She is about to start a new job. They are expecting their first child. And they are looking for a new home in a new community. Oak Grove seems like the perfect choice, maybe too perfect. Then things get weird, then weirder still, and Elizabeth and Zach can’t - or don’t want to - escape.

About the Playwright
Jim Hawkins is a native of the Delaware Valley. He has been a storyteller throughout his adult life, whether working as a newspaper reporter, pastor, freelance writer or playwright. Jim studied journalism at Northwestern University, theology at Wesley Theological Seminary and theatre at Villanova University. Jim is an alumnus of The Foundry, a playwright support organization for emerging Philadelphia area playwrights. In 2022 he was awarded an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Delaware Division of the Arts.
About the Series
The Media Arts Council (MAC) Play Reading Series was created by playwrights Julie Zaffarano, Dave Ebersole, and Keenya Jackson, in partnership with the MAC to create a space for local playwrights to hear their work read by talented actors and receive feedback from a public audience. The only regular new play reading series in in the area, it brings exciting new stories to Delaware County.
Playwrights, actors, and directors who are interested in being involved in the series should contact Julie Zaffarano, juliezaffarano.gmail.com. Due to the limited budget for this project, we are unable to offer actors or directors a stipend through the MAC.
