We are launching our back patio with a Porron party and a team competition! Entries are limited to 6 teams and all teams must have 5 people in them (no more, no less).
How does it work?
- Cost of entry is $150 per team which includes 2 bottles of wine, Bighorn snacks to enjoy, and a ton of fun.
- All teams must have 5 people in them (no more, no less)
- Teams of 5 are mandated to ensure this fun event is also safe! 1 bottle of wine contains 5 glasses of wine which means that at the end of the event every team member will have consumed two glasses of wine, and one glass of water, with snacks in between.
- All teams are required to wear white tshirts to help our panel of judges determine how "clean" your porron drinking is or is not. (We recommend wearing a white tshirt you don't mind spilling wine on). :) Teams that arriving wearing a different color shirt will be asked to go find a white shirt to wear, or they will be disqualified.
- There will be 3 rounds of competition (details below in the schedule of events)
- There will be a panel of guests judges who will give each team on 3 categories that will determine their final score and our winners (details below in the schedule of events)
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
5pm - Arrive at The Bighorn and get your team checked in with The Bighorn staff on the back patio
5:25 - All teams will be positioning in their competition spot on the back patio
5:29.50 - 10 second count down to go time.
5:30 - Round 1 of competition:
- We we fill your Porron with a full bottle of red wine.
- At the whistle, every team member uses the Porron to pour wine into their own mouth.
- Porron until the wine is gone!
- Once all teams have finished their wine, there will be a break for our judges to deliberate. (read below on how teams will be judged)
- All team members get to enjoy Bighorn snacks that are included their entry ticket.
- Judges will show their score cards and announce the winner of Round 1
6pmish - Round 2 of competition:
- We we fill your Porron with 750ml of water (the same quantity in a bottle of wine)
- At the whistle, every team member uses the Porron to pour wine into their own mouth.
- Porron until the water is gone!
- Once all teams have finished their water, there will be a break for our judges to deliberate. (read below on how teams will be judged)
- All team members get to enjoy Bighorn snacks that are included their entry ticket.
- Judges will show their score cards and announce the winner of Round 2
6:30ish - Round 3 of competition:
- We we fill your Porron with a full bottle of red wine.
- At the whistle, every team member uses the Porron to pour wine into THE MOUTHS OF THEIR TEAMMATES
- Porron until the wine is gone!
- Once all teams have finished their wine, there will be a break for our judges to deliberate. (read below on how teams will be judged)
- All team members get to enjoy Bighorn snacks that are included their entry ticket.
- Judges will show their score cards and announce the winner of Round 3
7ish - The Crowing of the Winners
- Our judges will announce the winners of each round, as well as our Porron Party Champions!
- Winners will receive a $100 gift card to use at The Bighorn
WHAT CRITERIA WILL THE JUDGES USE TO ANNOUNCE THE WINNERS?
Each team will receive 3 scores by our panel of judges. The judges will then take add those scores to come up with the cumulative score that will determine our winning team:
Score 1 - Who emptied their Porron the fastest.
Score 2 - Style points. The perfect Porron drinker will start with the Porron at their mouth, extend their arm fully while pouring the wine, and then return the Porron to their mouth.
Score 3 - Who was the cleanest and had the least amount of spills.
