On Cue Performance Hub is a new non-profit performing arts organization offering a cooperative producing model serving local artists and diverse audiences in Regina and beyond. We aim to enliven Regina’s downtown core and activate connections between performing artists, businesses, and audiences. Bringing together artists across dance, music, theatre, and spoken word, our multi-pronged programming boosts the capacity of artists to make a sustainable living from full-time creative practice by strengthening their skills, knowledge, and connections
Description
Reveal the potent power and possibilities of your voice. Speak, sing, create.
This workshop series, led by Dr. Shannon Holmes, will explore and inspire curiosity into the full spectrum of each individual’s unique vocal expression. Through playful exploration, participants will have the opportunity to challenge any perceived limitations they may have around their voice and discover ways to open up their expressive capabilities - all in a welcoming and supportive environment.
This workshop series is suitable for all levels, and artists from all disciplines, and will traverse techniques that apply to both speech and singing. We will also examine how the voice can be a crucial instigator in the creative process.
Participants should come dressed in clothing that allows a full range of movement (yoga or sweatpants work well). A yoga mat and water bottle are recommended.
Participants should come prepared with some memorized text or a song (it needn’t be long – 8 lines of a poem or monologue or 16 bars of a song will suffice).
The space at Lakeview United Church is wheelchair accessible..
