Are you passionate about plants and eager to learn new propagation techniques? Join us at Myers Park on October 4, 2024, for an immersive and hands-on Propagation Workshop. Led by our local Master Gardeners, Judy McGrath, Diane Sharp, Beth DiGioia and Janet Kirklen, this workshop will equip you with practical skills for propagating your favorite plants at home.
Workshop Highlights:
• Propagation 101: Judy McGrath, a CCMGA certified Master Gardener, will provide a foundational overview of propagation techniques, perfect for beginners.
• Air Layering & Propagating Houseplants: Beth DiGioia, a CCMGA certified Master Gardener, will demonstrate the air layering technique, perfect for propagating trees and shrubs, and share her expert tips on propagating houseplants.
• Taking Cuttings & Using a Propagation Pot: Janet Kirklen, a CCMGA certified Master Gardener, will guide you through taking successful cuttings directly from the Perennial Garden. Then show you how to create your propagation pots, an essential skill for any gardening enthusiast.
• Hands-On Practice: Participants will have the opportunity to take cuttings in the Perennial Garden, assisted by our experienced Master Gardener volunteers, and then return to the Pole Barn to assemble their propagation pots.
• Propagation Methods Display: Explore various propagation methods showcased on informational tables throughout the workshop.
All supplies will be included, so bring something to drink and enjoy this relaxing and fun morning.
What You’ll Receive:
Each participant will receive a kit including the following:
• A large 10" plastic propagation pot
• Small terracotta pot
• Potting soil
• Rooting hormone
• Plant labels
• Tray to hold pots
• Plant Root Growing Ball recommended for air layering
• Pencil

Handicap parking will be at the Farm Museum adjacent to the Pole Barn. Additional parking at the Myers Park Office in the circle drive.
This event will be held outdoors at The Pole Barn pavilion, so come dressed comfortably. Bottled water will be provided, so bring a light snack to eat.
Tickets are non-refundable, and seats are very limited, so please pass your tickets along to someone who can attend the workshop.
