RAISE OUR VOICES! A Song and Stage Experience
Join us at the Marjorie Luke Theatre to learn from the past to create a more caring and inclusive present.
About the Event
This special evening includes musical performances by the Inner Light Gospel Choir under the direction of Dauri Kennedy and the Dos Pueblos High School Jazz Choir under the direction of Courtney Anderson. Also featured is the Santa Barbara premiere of the acclaimed play, SURVIVORS. In one riveting hour, the young and diverse cast enacts the history of the Holocaust through the eyewitness accounts of ten survivors. The survivors also share their life lessons and inspire hope, courage and fighting against today's hatred. A talkback with the cast and playwright, Wendy Kout will be moderated by Gwyn Lurie, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of the Montecito Journal.
The Venue
The beautifully restored Marjorie Luke Theatre presents brilliant and culturally diverse entertainment from Santa Barbara and around the world. This historic venue, nestled near the heart of downtown, offers the perfect ambience and acoustics for our inspiring song and stage experience. Free parking is provided at the theatre.
