Originally from Co. Antrim on the north east coast of Ireland Ray has been living in Aberdeen, Scotland for over 35 years. His music has been influenced by his early days with the playing of the great Irish legends: Planxty, Christy Moore, Paul Brady, Andy Irvine and Van Morrison.
Along with his native folk music, Ray has been influenced and inspired by the American and Canadian songwriting of James Taylor, Gordon Lightfoot, John Prine and the late great Stan Rogers, to name a few. He has a small collection of his own songs which he's always working on to expand and in recent years has been swayed towards the relatively new genre of Americana music. Together, with all these influences, Ray Moore's music is a nice mix of Celtic folk,singer/songwriter and Americana Country which we know you will enjoy.
