Description

Reverend Robert Todd, the founder of Rehoboth Beach in 1873 will return to help celebrate the Historical Society’s 50th anniversary at the Museum on Thursday May 15 at 5:30 pm.

Rev. Todd will be portrayed in period costume by Roger Truitt, the author of the award winning “Room Enough,” an historical novel telling the story of Rehoboth’s early days as a camp meeting revival venue that transformed into a popular and more secular resort when the railroad came to town.

Truitt will transport attendees back to the 1870s, using historical photographs and his extensive research to describe life in Rehoboth Beach during that era. He is a native of Rehoboth Beach and presently serves as the President of the Historical Society.

Admission is $10 and free for Historical Society members. “Room Enough” will be available for purchase and signing by Truitt.
