Description

Rob Lutes with Rob MacDonald

A masterful fingerstyle guitarist with an unmistakable, soulful voice, Rob Lutes has steadily built a collection of moving, melodic songs that inhabit the intersection of blues, Americana and folk Originally from New Brunswick, the long-time Montreal resident is a former Kerrville Festival songwriting winner, and a multiple Canadian Folk Music Award winner (including in 2022 for Contemporary Singer of the Year) and Maple Blues nominee as Acoustic Act of the Year. Rob MacDonald is one of Canada's finest roots guitarists. After more than 20 years together, the two have developed the ability to create a rich, intense sound.

The two will play a selection of Lutes's celebrated original songs along with a few gems and forgotten classics from the worlds of blues and Tin Pan Alley jazz.

"Lutes is a fine roots/blues writer, one of those gems you find by chance as you're going through a town and he's going through a town and you just want a beer and he gives you the show of the year.” - Bob Mersereau, CBC.ca

‟Widely acknowledged as a gifted songwriter.”
- Lynn Saxberg, Ottawa Citizen
