The Trail Ridge Road and Peak to Peak Scenic Byway provide breathtaking views of the rocky mountains and the diverse nature of Colorado, meandering through numerous 12,000-foot peaks, high-alpine tundra, and showcasing some of the best views in Rocky Mountain National Park. Aptly named the "Highway to the Sky," Trail Ridge Road conquers the Continental Divide at an impressive 12,183 feet. Colorado has officially recognized Trail Ridge Road as both a scenic and historic byway, inviting drivers to make the most of numerous turnouts and expansive vistas throughout the journey. While the drive is generally serene, it does feature some hairpin turns and a plethora of sweeping bends. The Peak to Peak Scenic Byway serves as a picturesque connection between Estes Park and Central City, tracing along the eastern fringe of Rocky Mountain National Park and Colorado's Front Range. This scenic route winds its way through mountain peaks, passing by several historically rich towns before reaching its destination in Central City.
