Rose Care for Beginners with Horticulturist Joey Mayes

May 18, 2025

10-11 am

Join our Rose Garden horticulturist Joey Mayes as he discusses beginner rose care. Delve into the fundamentals of rose care, covering planting, watering, feeding, and pruning techniques. Led by our experienced horticulturist, you'll embark on a guided tour through our rose garden, where he shares his personal insights and methods for maintenance. While the focus is on general rose care, you're encouraged to bring your specific questions and experiences for discussion. However, please note that detailed topics like rooting cuttings or deep pruning won't be extensively covered.

Included in the class is admission to the Memphis Botanic Garden along with an hour of insightful instruction. Rain or shine, the class goes on, with indoor arrangements made in case of inclement weather. Be prepared to stand for the full hour, possibly in high temperatures, so dress appropriately and bring water to stay hydrated.
