   NolaXNola cross Scattterjazz at the Broadside are thrilled to present a never-before 4-tet of uniquely New Orleans sound sculpture.....

      Four globe-trotting heavies who all happen to call New Orleans home, meeting to spin new stories from well-worn yarn...  Each member of this band is an old-friend with at least one other member, and each member has never met at least one other member!

       One of the greatest of the modern greats of our city's drum tradition, Shannon Powell, will be holding down the kit.  Brian Haas, longtime member of international juggernauts such as "Jacob Fred Jazz Odyssey" and "NolaTet", will be tickling keyboards and such.  On the violin and electronic twists is Rurik Nunan, one of the very busiest players in New Orleans in all seasons and who shares his wares with all genres gleefully, and on the trombone is the inimitable Rick Trolsen, one of the most respected deep-brass blasters in worlds ranging from the most traditional to the farthest-flung for over four decades in the Crescent City

      This event will be fully improvised, drawing inspiration from whatever the wind blows onto the palettes of these four highly distinctive improvisers and top-flight musicians.  At the same time, it will surely be delightful to fans of any and all threads of the widely-webbed musical tapestry of New Orleans

        I cannot think of anywhere else I might want to be listening to music on a Wednesday night, and we think you'll agree.

  • The showtime listed for the event is the time the event starts. Doors will generally open an hour before the listed show time unless otherwise listed.
      We allow pets during the day, but not at night for music (anything after 7pm). Service animals are always allowed.
     
  •  Please do not park in the Broad Theater parking lot. We have a parking lot for  The Broadside and plenty street parking available on Toulouse and Lafitte. If you would like to be escorted to your car, please ask the Sheriff on duty. You may also park in the Auto Zone parking lot if they are closed. 
  •  We have a variety of seating options such as benches, picnic tables, chairs, and stools. You are welcome to bring your own chairs, if you require a seat for health reasons or disability, please ask a staff member and they can provide you with a chair.
