Description

Stephen Wise and the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene invite you to join us for "Soul to Soul," a concert celebrating the historic African-American and Jewish partnership. Introducing the event will be Congressman Ritchie Torres and Abraham Joshua Heschel School Founder Peter A. Geffen. This moving and uplifting performance features Yiddish and English songs by Jewish and African-American artists expressing lament, protest against racism and antisemitism, and hope for a brighter future. The concert culminates in a rousing celebration of the songs that fueled the sit-ins and marches of the Civil Rights Movement performed by a children's choir from Stephen Wise Free Synagogue, Harlem's IMPACT Repertory Theatre and the Abraham Joshua Heschel School.

This concert is presented in association with GoldenLand Concerts & Connections and is made possible by the generous support of Mark and Minna Seitelman.
