Whether you're a beginner or looking to refine your skills, this class will take you through every step of the process—from creating and nurturing your own starter to shaping, proofing, and baking the perfect loaf.

In this class, you'll discover:

  • The secrets behind building and maintaining a healthy sourdough starter.
  • How to mix, fold, and shape your dough for the best texture and rise.
  • Techniques for scoring and baking your loaf to achieve a crisp, golden crust.
  • Tips for troubleshooting common sourdough challenges.

By the end of the class, you’ll leave with your very own starter, a fresh loaf to take home, and the confidence to bake delicious, artisan sourdough at home.

Bring your love of baking and leave with skills you’ll use for a lifetime!

 PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING WITH YOU TO CLASS: 

  • A non-reactive medium sized bowl (Plastic or glass will work great) to transport your dough ball/loaf home in. 
  • If you would like to take some starter home, please bring a jar that can hold up to a cup (8 oz).

4 Different Types of Sourdough Bread: Traditional Loaf, Seeded/Nut Loaf, Honey Wheat Loaf and Irish Loaf

Grilled Sourdough Bread, Arugula, Goat Cheese and Black Olives

An assortment of baked goods made with sourdough starter: Sourdough Crackers and Sourdough Rye Brownies

What To Expect

Great cooking is about more than just recipes—it's about celebrating culinary experiences with a foodie community. In this class, you'll learn with other students in a positive, interactive environment led by our professional chef instructor.

  • Instructor: Chef Bonnie
  • Length: Approximately 3 hours
  • Format: Hands-On. Get ready to stir up your inner chef as you work with other students, typically in groups of four people, guided by the chef instructor. You’ll be standing and cooking during the class, so please wear comfortable, closed-toed shoes and have long hair tied back. Make sure to bring your appetite because you will enjoy all the dishes created during the class.
  • Location: First Floor.
  • Restrictions: Ages 16 and older. Students under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult.

  • General Admission: Arrive at the start of class.
  • Bar will be closed.
