Description

Jane’s Walk is an annual global festival of free, volunteer-led walks designed to generate conversation about the city and celebrate its vibrant past, present, and future. The festival honors Jane Jacobs, who was an urban activist, author, and believer in the power of citizens to make a difference in their city.

Splat Stroll: A Ramble Through the Paved (and Unpaved) Westside Trail

Join designer and West End resident Sarah Lawrence on a 3-mile walk along the paved part of the Atlanta BeltLine, with a detour through the shady, wild corridor of the unpaved path. Having such a tranquil spot alongside two busy streets can feel unreal, but Atlanta's got it!

You’ll meet at Lee & White to grab a coffee or beer and then embark on a 1.5 mile walk to the splat tunnel in West End! You’ll learn about the murals along the route, identify plants, and learn more about the history of Westview and West End.

Then, you’ll take a slightly different route back to the starting point and see different sights of the area.

The unpaved part of the path is beautiful and secluded, but it can get muddy after rains, so consider waterproof shoes!

Participation is free!
