Stop by the various activity stations where you'll learn how to create soil blocks, you can share/swap garden tools and larger decorative containers, craft seed snails, learn about stratification, create paper pots, sharpen your garden tools, grab seeds from MNSEED, and grow your gardening network. All ages welcome.

Grow to Give, Grow to Live
Join volunteers from JIIVE and Zintkala Luta, who will discuss best practices for seed starting and share their work to develop a community garden that supports justice-impacted individuals. Growing our food from seed is at the heart of food sovereignty and community healing. Presenters will share information on their campaigns to improve food in Minnesota prisons through garden programs and ensure better, more nutritional food access when people return to their local communities.

Wondering how to help your seedlings sprout into healthy, successful plant starts? The excitement of seeds germinating is often mixed with questions on how to ensure their long-term success in your gardens - which can be especially challenging when growing in small spaces and getting to know the watering and lighting needs of different plant types. We'll talk about managing temps, light, moisture levels, transplanting, and more as your plants grow. Learn to tips and tricks for hardening off your plants to help them adjust to outdoor life, and how to plan for the MN weather. Presenters will demonstrate a variety of seedling care tips and discuss options for setting up a grow space of any size.
