Stand with Michelle: Radically Transforming Education for Black and Brown Children, Families, and Educators
September 28, 2024 | 11:00am - 3:00pm | 5927 Cantaloupe Ave. Valley Glen, CA
Join me, Michelle Morales, for a transformative community gathering that celebrates art, healing, and building support for my ongoing fight for justice. This event is a powerful call to action, rooted in my personal journey of resilience and dedication. Together, we will experience performances, discussions, and interactive workshops, as we raise funds to sustain my mission and support our communities in building a more loving and inclusive world.
Event Purpose
This event brings together a diverse community of individuals who care deeply about education, the future of Black and Brown students, families, and educators, and those committed to building a more just, equitable, and loving world. Whether you're a community member, activist, artist, mental health professional, educator, administrator, entrepreneur, or service provider, your presence and support are vital. Together, we will share a day of powerful art, healing practices, and meaningful conversations that focus on systemic injustice, healing from trauma, and creating lasting change. Every form of contribution—be it through your engagement or financial support—helps sustain this crucial work. Funds raised will support my ongoing legal battle and my mission to address injustices within the school system. Your involvement is an essential part of this movement for justice and transformation.
Event Goals
- Raise Funds: Generate financial support for my legal and personal needs, as well as to rebuild and establish my business, including opening my private practice and community center.
- Build Awareness: Educate attendees on the broader issues of injustice Black and Brown educators and communities face within the education system.
- Strengthen Community: Foster solidarity and support within the community, sustaining initiatives that address systemic injustices and inequities.
What to Expect
- Art and Performance: Dance, singing, and poetry serve as powerful expressions of my journey and a celebration of cultural resilience.
- Healing Session: I will lead a movement session designed to unite us in healing and solidarity.
- Panel Discussion: Activists, educators, and community leaders will offer their insights on justice and healing, inviting us all to reflect on the ways we can contribute to meaningful change.
- Opening and Closing Ceremony: The event will begin and conclude with a special ceremony led by KLBRI, an institute dedicated to uplifting and sustaining advocates and leaders through an ecosystem of care, well-being, and healing.
- Light Refreshments: Guests will enjoy a selection of finger foods and light refreshments, providing an opportunity to connect with one another in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Join Me: This is more than an event—it's a call to action, a moment to unite our voices, and an opportunity to stand in solidarity with me as I continue to fight for justice and healing. Together, we can make a lasting impact, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to thrive in a world that honors their dignity and potential.
Your support means everything to me—thank you for standing with me and for being a part of this movement toward justice, healing, and transformation.
