Staring Contest is a jangly, emotive indie rock duo with Alex Richardson on vocals and Devan Kansagara on guitar and drum programming.
Former bandmates who recently reunited, their textural, soulful songs touch several genres including pop, jazz, rock and folk.
Their wide-ranging influences include Elvis Costello, Johnny Marr, Jenn Wasner, Haitus Kaiyote, Elliott Smith, Aimee Mann, Mark Knopfler, Hayley Williams, Paul Simon, Brandi Carlisle and many more.
