Our home textiles work hard for us—so why not give them a little love in return?
In this hands-on workshop, we’ll explore the art of embroidery as a way to extend the life of well-loved household textiles while adding a personal, artistic touch. Whether it’s a pillowcase with sentimental value or a hand towel waiting for its moment to shine, we’ll transform everyday fabrics into beautiful, hand-stitched works of art.
What You'll Learn:
- The fundamentals of hand embroidery, including essential stitches
- How to design and apply embroidery to enhance and extend the life of textiles
- Tips for selecting materials, colors, and patterns that complement your fabric
- The role of embroidery in sustainable design and creative reuse
What You'll Take Home:
- New embroidery skills to continue your creative journey
- Inspiration to refresh and personalize more household fabrics
- A deeper appreciation for the artistry of stitching and sustainable design
- A project you can continue to work on at home—or ideas for further projects that make your home textiles a bit more special
What to Bring:
- A textile from home that you’d like to embroider (pillowcase, napkin, tea towel, or another small fabric item)
- Any personal embroidery supplies you’d like to use (optional)
