Description
For our first summer concert of 2024, Melodia Mariposa presents the unusual combination of Guitar and Trombone performed by the Iles/Hynes Duo . Their playing is a musical conversation between two dear friends who simply love to make music together.
Combining their love of beautiful melodies and improvisation, Alex Lles and Tom Hynes enjoy exploring the music that inspired them to become musicians themselves.
Drawing on the American songbook, classic jazz standards by legendary jazz artists, and their own original material, they invite listeners to share this music in a very intimate setting.
Jason Lewis is Melodia Mariposa’s very own Rising Star. This young artist returns to open the concert by performing his own guitar arrangement of J.S.Bach's violin solo, Chaconne from Partita No.2.
This concert is made possible by the support of the Altadena Rotary, Supervisor Kathryn Barger's office and the LA County Department of Parks and Recreation.
